Review: The first time I saw this movie on VHS in the late 80s, I was surprised. 70s movie with a good message? I could not believe it. Message: children - to be honest and trustworthy and do not have to be unpleasant, parents - Dont spoil your children or they will turn out to be brats.Wow, no wonder liberal critics such as Leonard Maltin trash this movie. It was not an ordinary message delivered to the movies, usually trashes the good and bad of praise. That's what makes this story refreshing and would do the same again 2005.Peter Ostrum as Charlie playing enjoyable and runs very well. Definitely the most beautiful children ever on screen and the actor was fine. Its kind of amazing that it was the only film ever made! Loving grandfather of Jack Albertson Charlies a nice job, and the bratty children, especially girls, English is so bad in the first part of the story is a satire on her.The good laugh about how people sometimes trivial things that are important to you and how the information from the media to get dumb. (! Wow, look at it) in the second half of the story is interesting because of the film's co-star: Willy Wonka - no-nonsense candy maker that does not put the kids together - it was interesting to watch. (Critics thought was too cruel.) Gene Wilder as Willy is very good. Yes, a bit of a mean streak to him, but his comments are funny to listen to his verbal tact despite the lack of money. Most people prefer Wilders Wonka version, by the way, the bizarre-but-talented Johnny Depps.This is a fun movie you like more than it was like. It is also interesting in comparison to the 2005 film. Frankly, I enjoy both.
